Law firm celebrates Jean Darby's 50 years of service

Bish, Butler, & Thompson Ltd. recently hosted a 50 year celebration for long-term real estate legal assistant, Marilyn “Jean” Darby. On hand to wish her well were friends, families, as well as present and past co-workers.

Mrs. Darby began her service with the law firm in 1963. She left the firm briefly when she had a baby and returned the following year where she remains today. With a half-century of service, Jean has seen a lot and outlasted many attorneys. When she began she worked for Gus Gebhard, Lorin Hogue and John Dwyer. Other attorneys would come and go during her long tenure, including Robert Wilson, Robert Lowe, William Bish and Craig Roth. Jean presently works with partners, Charles Butler and Tom Thompson, as well as the newest attorney Kim Smith.

When Jean is not working she enjoys spending time with her husband, Gene and volunteering at her church, First Presbyterian of Montpelier, as well as the Williams County Fair Foundation. Jean resides in Montpelier Ohio. She has three children, Laura Cohen (Sylvania, Ohio), Linda Westrick, (Nampa, Idaho), and Craig Darby, (Marysville, Washington). Mrs. Darby also enjoys eight grandchildren.
